Amad Diallo was the standout performer for the defending champions, Ivory Coast, scoring the only goal in their 1-0 victory over Mozambique. His composed strike in the 49th minute proved decisive, earning him the official Man of the Match (MVP) award. Similarly, Bryan Mbeumo made an immediate impact on his AFCON debut for Cameroon. He provided a pinpoint assist for Karl Etta Eyong’s early winner in a 1-0 triumph over Gabon and was also named the Man of the Match for his creative influence throughout the game.

Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui played a vital role in host nation Morocco's 2-0 win over Comoros. Starting at right-back, Mazraoui provided the assist for Brahim Díaz’s opening goal and was described as "fantastic" by head coach Walid Regragui. With all three players instrumental to their teams' success, they have set a high standard for the remainder of the group stages.
