In this round of the Premier League, Liverpool secured a 3–1 home victory over Crystal Palace. After the match, Sky Sports suggested that Mohamed Salah may have already played his final game for the club.

Salah suddenly felt discomfort in his left hamstring during an attacking move. He went down helplessly, signaling that he could not continue, his expression filled with disbelief as he looked up at the Anfield sky with a wry smile. Sky Sports noted that no one wants to believe his journey with the Reds could end in such a way.

At the time, Liverpool were leading 2–0. Cutting inside from the right, Salah made one of his trademark runs before delivering a clever backheel pass to Dominik Szoboszlai inside the box. Moments later, the stadium fell silent as fans realized he was injured. This was supposed to be one of his final three appearances at Anfield, but it may now have prematurely ended his entire Liverpool career.

Salah then slowly got back on his feet and applauded all four sides of the stadium in gratitude, as the entire crowd rose to give him a standing ovation. Over nine years with Liverpool, he made 439 appearances and scored 257 goals, cementing his legacy as a club legend.

After the match, manager Arne Slot said: “We don’t yet know the extent of the injury. Salah never wants to come off easily — the fact that he asked to be substituted says a lot. We can only wait for the scans to determine how serious it is. Even if we were leading 6–0 and I took him off with two minutes to go, he would still think he could score two more.”

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood said on Sky Sports: “This could be the end of his time in a Liverpool shirt. To go out with a hamstring injury like this is really heartbreaking.”
