FC Barcelona Receive Major Boost Ahead of El Clásico as Lamine Yamal Ruled Out but Key Stars Return

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, in the Matchday 35 El Clásico clash of the 2025-26 La Liga season, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick only has two confirmed absentees, with the Blaugrana potentially able to secure the league title in this match.

The report states that Flick currently has the largest number of available players he has had all season. However, the team is still without one key star — arguably their most explosive attacking player.

Besides Andreas Christensen, the player suffered a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session in December 2025. Barcelona’s biggest absentee for this El Clásico is Lamine Yamal.

The winger suffered a biceps femoris injury in his left leg after converting the winning penalty in Barcelona’s match against RC Celta de Vigo. He is expected to miss the remainder of the La Liga season and is currently working hard on his recovery in hopes of being fit for the World Cup.

Raphinha, although unused in the match against CA Osasuna, has been included in the squad list and is likely to return for El Clásico. Even if he does not start, he is expected to feature off the bench.

Eric García and Pedri both picked up minor knocks in last week’s away game against Osasuna, but they have resumed full training this week and face no fitness concerns ahead of the match.
