According to Japanese media outlet Sports Hochi, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, who withdrew from Japan's FIFA World Cup squad due to injury and has officially announced his retirement from international football, is attracting interest from several clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
Endo's contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of next season, and according to multiple sources, there is a strong possibility that he will leave the club this summer. Several top-flight Saudi clubs have already placed the former Japan captain on their shortlist, with efforts to pursue a deal gathering pace.
Among the interested Saudi Pro League sides are AFC Champions League Elite winners Al-Ahli Saudi FC and Al-Nassr, the club that boasts Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. At present, the clubs are still at the stage of expressing interest and identifying potential targets, with no formal offers submitted yet. However, Endo's quality has long been widely recognized across Asia, having proven himself as one of the continent's top midfielders during his time as captain of the Japanese national team.
