According to Mundo Deportivo, Carlo Ancelotti has announced that Brazil will begin a squad renewal process aimed at the 2030 World Cup after returning to the country.

The Italian head coach arrived back in Brazil a few hours ago and, after meeting with the Brazilian Football Confederation’s (CBF) technical committee to define the national team’s next steps, confirmed that the Seleção will undergo a major transition.

In a statement, Ancelotti said:

“We will begin building a new team and evaluating young players, but we will not rule out those who participated in the World Cup and can still contribute a lot to the national team.”

The meeting covered plans for upcoming national team call-ups, logistical arrangements for international friendlies in September and November, as well as preparations for the 2027 South American World Cup qualifiers and the 2028 Copa América, which will be hosted in the United States.

During the discussions, Brazilian officials also reviewed the team’s performance at the 2026 World Cup and explored ways to strengthen the connection between the senior national team and Brazil’s youth setups. The goal is to prepare for upcoming competitions such as the U17 World Cup and the next Olympic cycle.

Ancelotti’s contract with the Brazilian national team runs until 2030. The Italian coach will now resume scouting players from the Brazilian Championship and Copa do Brasil in order to expand the pool of potential national team selections under his new project.
