Real Madrid Turn to Bernardo Silva After Rodri Snub

    0 0

Real Madrid have reportedly accepted defeat in their pursuit of Rodri Hernandez after the Spanish midfielder decided to join Barcelona instead. The decision came as a disappointment for Los Blancos, particularly because they had been among the first clubs to approach Rodri after the World Cup and initially appeared to have a strong position in the race. Despite the setback, Madrid have respected the player’s decision and are now preparing to move forward without their preferred midfield target.

The failure to sign Rodri does not appear to have changed Real Madrid’s transfer strategy. The club reportedly has no intention of rushing into the market for another defensive midfielder before the transfer window closes. Madrid believe their current squad already possesses enough quality and depth to compete across the season, making another major midfield signing unnecessary. Their approach also reflects a long-standing preference for players who genuinely want to represent the club rather than pursuing targets who are uncertain about making the move.

Instead of bringing in an external replacement, Real Madrid are expected to explore solutions from within their existing squad. Bernardo Silva has emerged as one of the most interesting options, with the Portugal international potentially taking on a deeper midfield role more regularly. His technical ability, experience and versatility could allow him to operate as a central midfielder while offering greater control in possession and helping connect the defensive and attacking phases.

The tactical adjustment could see Silva deployed as part of a double pivot alongside another established midfielder already at the club. This would give Madrid an alternative way to strengthen the center of the pitch without making another expensive addition. While Rodri would have offered a specialist presence in the defensive midfield role, the club appears ready to trust its current resources and adapt its system around players such as Silva rather than continuing to pursue a direct replacement.
