Chelsea have entered the race to sign Jhon Lucumi as uncertainty continues over the Colombian defender’s future at Bologna. The 28-year-old centre-back has a running until 2027 but has yet to reach an agreement over an extension, increasing the possibility of a summer departure. His situation has already attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, while Juventus have also made an approach as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

Juventus remain Lucumi’s preferred destination despite competition from Chelsea and other clubs. The Turin side have recently renewed  with the player’s representatives and reportedly received an encouraging response regarding his willingness to move to Serie A rivals. However, Juventus face a significant obstacle after Bologna rejected their initial proposal. Lucumi is reportedly open to experiencing a new challenge in the Premier League, making a move to Stamford Bridge an attractive possibility. The London club have yet to submit an official offer, but their growing interest could put additional pressure on Juventus to reach an agreement before another contender makes a decisive move.

Lucumi’s experience makes him an appealing option for Chelsea, particularly if Benoit Badiashile leaves during the summer window. The Colombian has established himself as a reliable defender through his performances in Serie A and European competitions, including the Champions League and Europa League.
