Real Madrid have reportedly identified Manuel Locatelli as a potential midfield target after failing to secure Rodri. The Juventus midfielder has emerged as one of the alternatives being considered as the Spanish giants look for another option to strengthen the centre of the pitch. Locatelli’s experience and versatility could make him an attractive candidate for a squad looking for greater depth and balance.
The reported interest comes as a surprise given Locatelli’s importance to Juventus since joining the club in 2021. The 28-year-old has made 230 appearances for the Turin side and recently returned to the Italy national team setup. His current market value is estimated at around €25 million to €30 million, although Juventus hold a stronger negotiating position after extending his contract until 2030 earlier this year.
For Juventus, a potential sale could provide valuable funds for further transfer activity. The club have already strengthened their squad with additions such as Randal Kolo Muani and Kerim Alajbegovic, making player sales an important part of their financial planning. Juventus are not under immediate pressure to sell Locatelli, but a major offer from Real Madrid could force the club to consider a deal involving one of their established midfielders.
Locatelli is not the only Juventus player facing an uncertain future this summer. Teun Koopmeiners has attracted interest from Newcastle United after struggling to consistently meet expectations since his arrival, while Lazio are reportedly exploring a loan deal with an option to buy for Fabio Miretti. Federico Gatti is also being lined with Napoli, meaning Juventus could have several opportunities to generate revenue. A move for Locatelli to Madrid, however, would undoubtedly stand out as one of the most unexpected transfers of the window.
