Japan FA Investigates Four Referees Over Alleged Sexual Entertainment Scandal

    0 0

According to Japan’s Kyodo News Agency, the Japan Football Association (JFA) has launched an investigation into four Japanese referees over allegations that they received sexual entertainment from foreign officials and match supervisors.

Previously, South Korean media reported that among the four Japanese referees who officiated the 2012 FIFA World Cup Asian third-round qualifying match between South Korea and Kuwait, two were allegedly provided with sexual entertainment.

Reports indicate that most of the referees accused of accepting such benefits have already retired. However, some former Japanese referees are currently working for the Japan Football Association, including positions responsible for managing referees in the J.League.

The Japan Football Association is expected to announce the results of its investigation into the referees suspected of involvement in the alleged misconduct at a later date.
