According to Argentine journalist Veronica Brunati, Manchester City have reached an agreement with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, but their current offer is still below Chelsea’s asking price of £120 million, meaning City are trying to convince Chelsea to soften their stance.
Multiple sources had previously confirmed that Manchester City are highly interested in Enzo, while Chelsea had set a transfer deadline for the Argentina international — by this evening local time. In her latest update, the journalist revealed that Manchester City have now agreed personal terms with Enzo, with the remaining issue being the lack of agreement between the two clubs over the transfer fee.
The journalist stated that negotiations have currently reached a standstill between Chelsea and Manchester City. Chelsea are demanding £120 million for the Argentine midfielder, while City’s offer remains below that figure.
However, reports suggest that Manchester City believe Chelsea could eventually relax their firm position in order to push the deal through. City manager and former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is considered a key figure in the negotiations.
