Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona in a deal worth around €50 million. The Spain international becomes the latest addition to the European champions after making a strong impression at the recent World Cup, where he scored the decisive extra-time goal in the final against Argentina.

Torres had already agreed personal terms with PSG and made it clear that he wanted to take on a new challenge in France. His decision was also influenced by his previous relationship with Luis Enrique, who coached him during his time with the Spanish national team. With his Barcelona contract set to expire next summer, the Catalan club ultimately decided that this was the right moment to sanction his departure.

PSG were looking to strengthen their attacking options following Gonçalo Ramos' move to AC Milan and Randal Kolo Muani's permanent transfer to Juventus. Torres gives Luis Enrique another versatile forward who can operate across the frontline, although his role has increasingly shifted toward centre-forward in recent seasons. The 26-year-old scored 21 goals in 49 appearances last season after registering 19 goals in 45 games the previous campaign.

Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022 and leaves after winning seven trophies, including three LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups. His departure is now expected to accelerate Barcelona's sarch for another striker, particularly following Robert Lewandowski's move to Chicago Fire. Julián Álvarez remains a leading target, although Atlético Madrid's reluctance to part with the Argentine could force Barcelona to consider alternative options.
