Tijjani Reijnders Leaves Manchester City for £52 Million Al-Qadsiah Move

Tijjani Reijnders has officially left Manchester City to join Al-Qadsiah in a major Saudi Pro League transfer. The Dutch international midfielder reportedly moved for £52 million, equivalent to around Rp1.1 trillion, just one year after arriving at City from AC Milan. His departure marks another significant change in a Manchester City midfield that is undergoing a major rebuild.

Reijnders initially made a promising start at City but struggled to maintain a consistent impact throughout the campaign. He finished the season with seven goals in 47 appearances, while the club began reshaping its midfield options. City have already signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116 million and are also pursuing Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, with Enzo Fernandez among the other players lined with the club.

The midfield overhaul has also included major departures. Bernardo Silva has moved to Real Madrid, while Rodri has joined Barcelona in a deal reportedly worth £65 million. Under new manager Enzo Maresca, City are preparing for a different tactical approach, with Reijnders apparently not guaranteed a regular starting role. His move to Al-Qadsiah therefore provides an opportunity for the 28-year-old to take on a more prominent role and become a key figure in another ambitious project.

Al-Qadsiah see Reijnders as an important addition after finishing fourth in the Saudi Pro League last season and challenging near the top of the table. Brendan Rodgers’ side have also started the new campaign with a 3-1 victory over Al Shabab, setting an encouraging tone for the season ahead. Reijnders is expected to strengthen their midfield as the club continues to pursue greater success, while the ongoing Saudi transfer window could bring further high-profile European arrivals before it closes on September 6.
