Argentina announce new friendly match squad, with Messi set to play in Argentina’s October 6 friendly against Benin — his final match for the national team.

Argentine Football Association (AFA) president Claudio Tapia has also confirmed that the players who won the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina will be present at the event.

Tapia said:

“After receiving Messi’s approval, we invited all the world champions who shared the 2022 Qatar World Cup campaign with him to attend the match together with their families. For Argentina national team fans, this will be an unforgettable celebration, as they will witness the ‘last tango’ of the greatest player in the world.”
