Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close eye on Erling Haaland as uncertainty continues to surround Manchester City amid the club’s ongoing financial issues. The Norwegian striker has attracted attention as one of the players whose long-term future could become a talking point if City face major consequences. Haaland has remained relatively quiet on the situation and recently pulled out of a scheduled press conference with Norway during the international break.

The striker had previously addressed the matter and indicated that he remained confident in Manchester City’s leadership. However, his recent decision to stay away from media duties has added further intrigue, particularly because Haaland has generally been willing to discuss matters surrounding his career. Barcelona are monitoring the situation partly because they were unable to sign a new striker during the summer, after their pursuit of Julian Alvarez failed to produce a deal with Atletico Madrid.

Haaland would represent a major attacking option for Barcelona if he ever became available.
