AC Milan have reported their first financial loss since RedBird Capital Partners took control of the club, with the 2025-26 financial year ending in a net deficit of around €24 million. The result ended three consecutive seasons of positive balances, following profits of €6.1 million in 2022-23, €4.1 million in 2023-24 and €3 million in 2024-25.
The main factor behind the downturn was Milan's absence from European competition during the season. The lack of Champions League and Europa League football reduced important sources of matchday and broadcasting revenue, while capital gains from player transfers were not enough to keep the club in profit. Despite this setback, Milan generated €464.6 million in total revenue, only around 6% lower than the previous season.
Commercial operations remained one of the strongest areas of the business. Sponsorship income surpassed €100 million for the first time in the club's history, while average match attendance remained above 72,000 spectators per game. Milan also recorded the highest average attendance in Serie A for a second consecutive season, and the club's brand value reached a record €514 million in 2026.
The financial report also showed that Milan's net financial debt increased to €145.3 million, compared with approximately €92 million a year earlier, while shareholders' equity stood at €176.4 million. Although the European absence created a significant short-term financial impact, the continued growth of commercial revenue, strong stadium support and operational efficiency provide important foundations for the club's broader financial model.
